The GLOBE Initiative’s Learning Expedition to the Sea Event was conducted in partnership with EPA and GLOBE initiative’s Asia Pasific Office in Maldives this October. The event was held from 1^st of October to 3^rd of October 2023 in Male’, Hulhumale and Villingili island. 30 participants from 6 Asia Pacific Countries joined the event. The participants included students, teachers and Country Coordinators from Philippines, Thailand, Taiwan, Mongolia, Vietnam and India.

The international team visited Muhyiddin School and Ghaazee School in Maldives. There were 37 participants from Muhyiddin School and 31 participants from Ghaazee School in the event. In the school visits the international and local schools exchanged their STEM knowledge through presentations of GLOBE related research projects, and STEM research and activities carried out in class room and through extra curricula activities. Furthermore, the schools represented their culture and traditions through these activities. EPA is the GLOBE Initiative’s country coordinator. This event was made possible by the support from MTCC and MNDF Coast Guard.
